University of Latvia will host the 11th Willem C.Vis Riga Pre-Moot

Save the date! We are pleased to announce that the University of Latvia will be hosting the 11th Riga Pre-Moot for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot on 9-11 March, 2017, in Riga, Latvia.
This year a large number of teams will participate in the Riga Pre-Moot, including University of Latvia (Latvia), Riga Graduate School of Law (Latvia), Belarusian State University (Belarus), International University MITSO (Belarus), Comenius University of Bratislava (Slovakia), MGIMO- University (Russia), National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (Russia), University of Manheim (Germany) and University of Graz (Germany).
The Pre-Moot will be commenced by a mini- conference in the afternoon of 9 March, 2017.
The Pre-Moot rounds will be held on 10 - 11 March, 2017. Social events will be also organized.
The event is organized by the University of Latvia Faculty of Law with the support of the Student Council of the UL Faculty of Law and the European Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Acknowledging that pre-moots are an essential part of preparation for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot’s general rounds in Vienna, the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia organizes the Riga Vis Pre-moot since 2006. In 2017 the Riga Pre-Moot will be organized for 11th time. Last year we gathered teams from 9 universities for this event: University of Geneva, London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Turku, Belarusian State University, University of Bern, Justus Liebig University of Giessen, University of Marburg, University of St.Gallen and University of Latvia. Around 30 arbitrators from all over the world came for pre-moot last year. We are supported by SICA-FICA and European Branch of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
