The objective of the delegation's visit to Riga was an exchange of experience to support the Armenian government and justice sector institutions in the effective implementation of justice system and anti-corruption reforms. Particular attention was devoted to:
- Models of state-provided legal aid.
- The development of pro bono mechanisms.
Sandra Zīle Gereiša, Director of the Legal Practice and Aid Center, introduced the guests to the operational principles of the center and provided insight into the development of mediation in Latvia.
During the visit, the delegation also met with representatives from: The Council of Sworn Advocates, The Ministry of Justice, The Court Administration, Marta Centre.
The UL Faculty of Law is pleased to have the opportunity to share Latvia's accumulated experience, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the rule of law and international reform processes within the justice sector.
